Personal News (about Horst & Inge)

Inge & I became 60 Years old.
My wife on May 15, 03 and I on Sept. 23, 03  became 60 years old.   We celebrated it on July 19, 03 in the Hotel Möwempick in the city of Lübeck,  together with Inge’s family and the “hard core” of the Missfeldt  family.    

Unfortunately, Werner (7320) [this is the I. D. number Horst has assigned for his records] from Glückstadt could not come for health reasons.  Edda Sievers as well was not thereshe was on vacation.   Those that came were u.a. Lisa (8143) from Plate,  Hans (12240) from Relingen,  Kai (9240) from Kaltenkirchen,  Bernd (1331) from Kronsforde and Heinz (299) from Oldendorf - all with their Partners. We hope you had a nice day.
For your coming, Inge & I thank you.     

On July 19, 2004, Inge & I had our Silver Wedding Anniversary.   We celebrated itin Hotel Reisebusch in Bad Schwartau.

Those who came were the same as those that came to our 60th birthday celebration;  but this time Werner & Edda were also there. Inge & I wish to thank you all - also for the many cards and Best Wishes.   THANK   YOU !!

That we celebrated our silver wedding was not a “matter of course”. On March 6, 2004 I passed out ; fortunately near our front door.   Our neighbor called the Ambulance and I got to the emergency admissions.  They determined that I had a brain hemorrhage,  and on the way to the hospital, I had a second attack. The bleeding in my head, or blood clot, had a diameter of 2½ cm  (= 1.1”) -  nice & big.

I stayed  2-3 weeks in the hospital - then came home.  Since then I have been desgnated “sick”,. probably until Novenber - December.   Also driving a car is not allowed since I am taking such strong tablets.   There are several things still with me.   My right wrist can not support any load and my short term memory is not as good as it was.

Family Meeting in Banzkow   April 30, 2002
Once again has Lisa Missfeldt (8143) from Plate,  made made invitations to a Family Meeting.   57 Family Members came.   We met in the Trend-Hotel in Banzkow. 
It is located between Schwerin & Ludwigslust.   In the morning we made a bus tour of the countryside of Lewitz.  Then the traditional Family Photo was taken.  Then we had various speakers in a row.   (If you have an interest in having a copy of the days program, you can order a copy from me - it is on 3 sides).

To our American and Canadian Family Members:
I have in the years 2002 & 2003 spent about 1,500 EUR for Postage & documents sent to our overseas Family Members that they fill them out.   Up to today, I have not received any answer!!!   Neither have I received the filled out form, nor an answer to my letter.
Therefore it is now “The End”

Except for a small group that I correspond with, I will end my research in the USA and CANADA. I will also not send over any documents except the few with whom I correspond. Should a family member write me asking for documents,  only with pre-pay!
Unfortunately it is so, that you want information and documents, but you don’t want to do anything for them.   I can not see doing that any more.   I will immediately restrict my research to Europe.   Here there are still so many things to do.

New Family Meeting in Bordesholm
Many have already inquired about when the next big Family Meeting will be held.!
Under normal conditions I wanted to organize a meeting in 2006.  Then came my sickness and now I am unfortunately healthwise and bodywise not in the situation to organize such a large meeting.   Unfortunately I also have not found anyone to help me or better yet to take it over.  

I spoke recently with Lisa from Plate.   She might possibly organize a small meeting next year in Mecklinburg.   Likewise I will organize a small meeting - possibly in Bordesholm.

Practical Hint (tip from the year 1949)
If you have rancid butter that you still want to spread on bread,  it should be kneaded carefully with sodium bicarbonate.   Then repeated kneadings in water will remove the bicarbonate.   Lightly salted, the butter will stay fresh many days.
